in my more philosophical moments i quite frequently think about longing. so much in my own life, in the lifes of people around me and in humanity has to do with longing. longing for freedom, love, sex, acceptance, self-fulfillment, money, respect etc. it's simple things like craving for candy and longing for material things. but also the deepest yearning for answers to the mystery of life. you might think that this is cheesy, but i really believe this to be true: the reality as we understand it is a 3d world passing through time, experienced through our material bodys and processed by our inner beeings. all this was initiated and created by god. god's motive was to generously share love and especially so with the humans, created in god's own image. the humans was given the power to choose and used that choise to give god the finger. god who had already given so much to humanity still wanted to generously show love and describes that love as a jealous but patient lover, a good father loving his children and a hen guarding her chickens. although we don't like to believe so i think we're all created for beeing in a loving relationship with god. the bridge that closes the gap between humanity and god is jesus and his death. jesus, both god and human, understanding both holiness/divinity and fuckedupness/humanity lived pure in all ways and died for all of humanity. he gives full forgivness to those who choose to give their full lives to him. having a relationship with god does not automaticly fulfill all your longing. while it is a definite step towards fulfilling the motive behind your existence no one will ever experience true fulfillment until you meet god eye-to-eye and are consumed by love! so experiencing fulfillment is not about looking deeper into yourself, but looking beyond yourself, into the loving eyes of god. and until we are able to really see eye-to-eye we continue to long. not just for fulfillment of our primary felt needs but for the deepest yearning deeply rooted in all of humanity; to recieve love from our creator that loves us with the passion of a lover, with the acceptance of a good father and the care of a hen. |
